This week, we are going to talk about the O21, an event at which our specialisation represented Centrale Nantes Engineering school.
from February 12, 2018 to February 16, 2018
The newspaper "Le Monde" created the event O21 (O for orientation and 21 for the 21st century) in order to allow young students to better understand the world and thus make the right choices in their studies. Several meetings have been organised everywhere in France, and one in Nantes this Friday and Saturday at the Cité des Congrès. A large number of establishments were in attendance including Audencia Business School and the architecture school ENSA. Centrale Nantes was invited to this event and some members of our project team were present to represent the school.
We welcomed the students and made them think about the changes that new technologies can bring to the medical field. Through an engaging workshop, students came up with new ideas on how to discretely and efficiently integrate medical objects in the house. From a door handle that detects one’s body temperature and heartbeat to a mirror that can identify every person in the house, several objects were invented by the students and it allowed all of us to have a debate concerning the possible integration of such objects in real houses. This event allowed us to present our project to people that knew little to nothing about connected objects for health. We also had the chance to advise students concerning their studies, their fears and expectations as well as inform them about the benefits that come with entering an engineering school like Centrale Nantes.
The project is coming to an end, we will make an update on our different advancements next week.
