To complete the connected objects provided by our partner companies, we decided to create some by ourselves.
from November 27, 2017 to December 1, 2017
This week, we started to work on the sensors we'll install in our physical demonstator of smart home for health.
The idea is to design some sensors of our own, aiming to complete the connected objects that the partner companies will provide. To do that, we use electronic equipment: Arduino. The Arduino boards are programmable microcontrollers thanks to very user-friendly software. Thus, we'll link our different sensors to the Arduino boards, which transfer the data acquired by a Bluetooth (or wired) connection to our database. Then that data will be displayed on the patient's interface and transferred to the doctor's interface if an alert is detected.
The sensors will be positioned in the demonstrator for different applications:
a pressure sensor, in the form of copper strips under a carpet, to detect a fall
a movement detector, linked to a luminosity sensor, to lighten the way if the resident gets up during the night
a temperature/humidity sensor, to evaluate the quality of the air
We'll order all the necessary material to make those objects, and the first results will be visible in January!
